North Coast Kids is a multi-disciplinary children’s therapy service offering occupational therapy, speech pathology and allied health assistant services. Our clinics are located in Grafton and Woolgoolga, supporting families in the Clarence Valley and Northern Beaches of NSW. Our services are available for children from birth to 16 years of age experiencing developmental delays or difficulties impacting their participation in daily activities.

LOCATED IN GRAFTON AND WOOLGOOLGA

We are passionate about providing quality early intervention for children from birth by providing holistic, family centred supports. Our therapists understand that every child has unique interests and motivation, which they foster through play. Our vision is to provide each child access to early intervention to enable confident, sensory regulated children and supported families.

About us

North Coast Kids currently provide Occupational Therapy, Key Worker and Allied Health Assistant Services. We offer clinic services in Grafton, utilising our specialist sensory clinics and mobile therapy sessions in the home, school or in the community depending on your child’s needs/goals. Regular therapy sessions are term based and over the school holidays we run intensive and group therapy programs. We strongly believe that parents and caregivers are integral to the therapy process, providing 1:1 feedback sessions after assessments, encouraging attendance during therapy sessions and booking regular consultations with you to collaborate on therapy goals and progress.

Sensory Integration

School Visits

Therapy in a child’s natural setting such as day care allows our therapists to support social engagement, play skills, transitions and participation in daily living activities e.g. toileting.

Clinic Therapy

Therapy in our sensory clinics supports the development of sensory regulation, postural control, social and emotional development by utilising a range of tools and sensory equipment in a 1:1 environment.

Group Therapy

Small group therapy in our sensory clinics targets specific skill areas such as emotional regulation, daily living, gross and fine motor and social skills. Controlling the group size and activities allows our therapists to design a targeted program.

Home Visits

Therapy sessions at home are help us gain a comprehensive understanding of the physical environment and observe how your child participates daily living activities e.g. bathing, dressing, toileting, and morning/afternoon routines.

Education & Consultation

We provide 1:1 feedback sessions after assessments and encourage regular consultations with you to collaborate on therapy goals and progress. Consultations include multi-disciplinary meetings to allow communication and strategies to be shared between therapists, educators and caregivers.

Assessment & Reports

We can complete a variety of assessments and reports. If requested, assessment reports summarise the findings of the initial assessment. Reports can be designed to assist with accessing funding or diagnosis, support NDIS or school processes.

Occupational Therapy

At North Coast Kids our Paediatric Occupational Therapist can assist children with their daily occupations and activities, such as, sleep, school, leisure, play and self-care. Our occupational therapists are experts in promoting a child’s confidence, well-being and independence. Working collaboratively with families, schools and service providers to assist your child to be successful and achieve their goals. We can provide assessment and intervention for areas of difficulty that your child may be experiencing.

At North Coast Kids our Occupational Therapists specialise in Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI) approach to intervention. Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI) was developed by A. Jean Ayres, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, an occupational therapist, psychologist and neuroscientist. This framework is shown to be effective for children with learning and behaviour difficulties, and children with autism.

Speech Pathology

Our Speech Pathology AHA works under the guidance of a qualified Speech Pathologist to deliver personalised intervention programs. Sessions are strength-based and play-based, designed to make therapy engaging and enjoyable for your child. Our Speech Pathology AHA can support your child with social communication, speech and articulation, expressive and receptive language, and literacy skills.
